Bullet Journal Junkie News and Updates

What’s up, Junkies?

How is everyone doing on this amazing Saturday? Well, I am doing pretty well. That is, if you don’t ask me how I am doing at NaNoWriMo. I am failing it. But, that’s all right. I have not written a single word (until now) since my last post on the 8th. There are a few reasons.

To start, I was a little under the weather for a few days last weekend. I was pretty worn down, and didn’t get much of anything accomplished at all. Not only did I not get anything written, I didn’t even have the energy to get my creative projects done. I fell behind in everything. Then, when I started to feel a little better, and decided to start catching up, I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of things on my To-Do list.

I have been chipping away at it slowly each day, and getting a few things done at a time. I forget how long some of those things tend to take. I spent 6 hours drawing out a mandala for the Mood Mandala printable for December. So, if you ever wonder how much time goes into making one of those, start to finish, you have your answer.

If you follow my other Instagram account you know that there are can a few creative projects. One of those projects is a stationery box. I’m making quite a few of them as Christmas presents for friends and family. I’m also working on a very detailed template for my mini albums. It has taken quite a bit of time and effort to get it to the point where everyone can use it and follow along with it. The pieces of the template are laid out across 14 pages. There are also instructions on how to use those 14 pages that go with it. Putting the prototype of the mini album together took 4 hours in and of itself and that is without any decoration. It is simple plain white cardstock.

You may also have noticed there are several new products in the shop. I am putting supply inventory in the store so you have access to products you have been requesting in the shop. The first sets of products to go into the store are Tombow 10 packs. Next, I will be putting up other types of writing pens and markers, along with inks, dip pens, and lots of other things. So, keep an eye out for those to start piling into the store, very soon. I hope to add at least a few products each day. I am going to be adding the most requested and sought after products first, so they are in the store in time for all the big sales coming up in the next week or so.

If you haven’t already, make sure you are signed up for the Bullet Journal Junkie newsletter. I will be sending 2-4 emails per month (never spam) and the next one will have all the exclusive sale information in it. You definitely do not want to miss out on that one.

In addition to all of that, I am beginning to consider my December layouts for my bullet journal. It is usually around the 15th of the current month that I really start to plan out what my set up will look like, what my theme for the month will be, and a color scheme. This coming month, I want to start bringing the Plan With Me videos to accompany the blog posts. In fact, I want to bring at least one video a week for you, so I am working on an editorial calendar for that. And, that’s not even mentioning setting up and planning for the new year, which is also fast approaching.

My plate, as you can probably see, is pretty full at the moment. So many projects are finally coming to a point, and so writing has had to rest a little on the back burner. I may fail NaNoWriMo as a whole, but that doesn’t mean I am going to stop making posts. I am hoping to continue to bring at least one post a week to you on each site. That will still allow plenty of time for me to create new products for you all. And, with the holiday season upon us, business is not the only thing on the agenda.

Either way, let’s get into some of the things I have planned for everyone.

First, there is a slight change to the Supply Sampler Boxes available for the month of December. 99% of orders are for the large box each month. In fact, only a handful of boxes, since I began them, have been small or medium orders. So, for December, there is just the one size box.

In addition to the Supply Sampler, there is a gift box, which will be unveiled tomorrow. The gift box is meant to be a great gift for someone who enjoys planning. The contents will be listed in the description of the box. Stay tuned for that.

Next week, there will be a Holiday Planner Insert coming out, so you have everything you need for your holiday plans in one place. I will be making it available in A5 and standard TN sizes. Those seem to be the most requested at this point. If you use a different size, let me know in the comments below.

I also want to get the December Plan With Me video and post up this coming week, because the end of the month is always hectic this time of year.

There will be sales in the shop here and over on Etsy. Make sure you are on the newsletter list so you get the coupon codes for the sales. Here is a little hint – subscribers get the coupons early. The newsletter will be out by Monday with all that information in it.

I will be bringing you with me as I set up my planner for the year to come. I will walk you through everything I am doing to get everything in order and planned so I have a successful year. (So we all do.) Expect videos in addition to those posts also.

If you are interested at all in paper crafts, make sure you are keeping an eye on the Amanda Moon Studios blog also. There will be new content flowing in over there as well. The projects I mentioned before are just the next couple ones coming up. There will be more. I am hoping to do some videos for those posts also.

So, while it may not be looking super good as far as me winning at NaNoWriMo for the month, I will definitely still be working my butt off each day to make sure I am getting everything in place for all of you. In the end, that is what really matters anyway. That is what makes me happy – creating things for all of you. Winning NaNoWriMo would have been a bonus, but not at the expense of me burning out in the process, or not being able to get you all the new items you are looking for each month. That being said, I think I will still keep my word counts current, just to see where I end up at the end of the month. Might as well see how I did. Posting as much as I have to this point is already quite an accomplishment, so I know I will be proud of myself at the end of the month, no matter what the numbers are.

That is going to wrap up the updates for this month. To signup for the newsletter, the form should be in the side bar. Scroll down to the bottom of the page if you are on a cell phone. As always, stay updated with what is going on and be a part of the constant conversations over in our Facebook Group – BuJo Junkies. We would love to see you there. You can find the December Supply Sampler here and the December Gift Box will be linked here as soon as it becomes available. Next up will most likely be the December Plan With Me.
